CCS Is looking for Heavy Equipment Operators in the Charleston SC, area with a company that specialty in Grading, Surveying, Paving, Utilities, Soil Stabilization, Concrete Services, Vac Truck Service, Traffic Control, Asphalt Production, Trucking, and Office support.

Laborer 2:

  • Can operate one piece of equipment Below

Operator 1:

  • Smooth drum & sheep’ s foot roller

    • Capable of determining rolling direction and method needed to obtain proper compaction

  • Off Road Truck

    • Ability to safely & efficiently operate in any direction

  • Front End Loader

    • Ability to pick up and move materials onsite. Ability to load material into a truck safely and efficiently (should take no longer than 5 minutes to load dirt onto a triaxle).

  • Backhoe

    • Able to pick up and move materials onsite with front bucket. Capable of using “ backhoe” controls on the rear digging arm to operate machine, capable of digging a trench with rear arm.

  • Farm tractor

    • Has ability to operate, pull pan, box blade, or disc.

 

Operator 2 - Has complete ability to operate all items listed under operator 1 plus has:

  • Excavator

    • Ability to load trucks, on and off road (average person and machine can load triaxle of dirt in 4 minutes). Ability to cut within 0.3’ of preset grade on roadways and pond slopes. All by using traditional controls, no gps skill needed.

  • Dozer

    • Ability using traditional controls to grade within 0.3’ of preset grades on pads, roads, and swales. Some gps experience is preferred but not mandatory, keep in mind, if applicant can grade to +/- 0.1’ with gps controls only it does not mean they’ re a level 3 operator.

    • Some grade setting ability using a rotating laser and gps rover experience is preferred but not mandatory

 

Operator 3: - Has complete ability to operate all items under operator 1, plus has:
  • Excavator:

    • Ability to load trucks, on and off road (average person and machine can load triaxle of dirt in 2 minutes). Ability to cut within 0.1’ of preset grade on roadways, pond slopes, and needs no one or other machine to dress up work; all by using traditional controls. Should have ability to determine if dirt is suitable for mucking methods.
  • Dozer:

    • Ability using traditional controls to grade within 0.1’ of preset grades on pads, roads, swales, having to use dirt and rock to grade with. Some gps experience is preferred but not mandatory.

    • Must have ability to set grades using a rotating laser and understand plan details to be able to comprehend what is being built matches detail.

    • Ability to use gps rover is preferred but not mandatory.

    • Ability to lead a small group of employees and complete task.

    • Very little supervision required to complete task
  • Motor grader: this piece of equipment is not mandatory for any category. The only way we consider some one as a motor grader operator is they must have at least 3 years’ experience fine grading jobs for asphalt to +/- 0.25” for preset grade hubs verifying with string line capability; must be traditional control only capable.
